1. Q: Is Flawlessly Yours! safe and suitable for most skin types, including extremely sensitive skin? What’s in it?

A: Yes, with some common-sense precautions: I developed it for my own VERY sensitive skin, as most cosmetics, even those labeled “hypoallergenic,” would burn my skin. However, as all of us have a unique DNA: please, please test any Flawlessly Yours! formula full strength FIRST on the back of your wrist for about 20 minutes, BEFORE using it on your face.

[NOTE: For those of you with extremely sensitive skin, I truly understand what you go through, and that’s why I developed this soap. I am so sensitive; I cannot wear most jewelry, as I am constantly getting contact dermatitis. In short, I have probably spent more time—and money--in a doctor’s office for my skin than any other organ. This is just one more reason to keep on keeping on and sharing this wonderful soap. Just use common sense, but know that, if you should be even more sensitive than I am, I will work with you to make it right. I originally used lavender essential oil in my soap, to give it its antiseptic and other properties. Now, I am finding that there are people even more sensitive than I am who are allergic to this delightful oil. So, I am now using eucalyptus globulus essential oil. It seems to be more amenable to most people, except for women who are pregnant or lactating. For these, lavender is recommended. However, if you should be one of the few people who are allergic to BOTH, I will work with you to find an essential oil better for you. Or, you might try my “Extremely Dry/Sensitive Skin Formula #1.”]

Also, like with glycerin and other gentle soaps, the vegetable (pine) soap in Flawlessly Yours! is an ingredient that has been used safely in American homes for years. However, due to the addition of the essential oils (eucalyptus, lavender, etc.), I did have a biologist test my product, with and without the essential oils. He found that both formulas had a safe, but slightly basic pH, which accounted for the soap’s effectiveness in gently removing certain fungi, if used regularly. This explained why people have consistently told me over the years that Flawlessly Yours! has helped their rosacea, bulbous nose, psoriasis, eczema, etc. However, as Flawlessly Yours! is simply a soap, it cannot claim to be a cure for anything. It is just a soap that does what most soap would love to do—it works!*

Skin Care Ingredients: Pure vegetable (pine) soap, essential oils (eucalyptus, lavender, etc.), FD&C Blue 1 and/or FD&C Yellow 5.

Shampoo Ingredients: Pure vegetable (pine) soap, water (filtered), essential oils (eucalyptus, lavender, etc.), FD&C Blue 1 and/or FD&C Yellow 5.

Other Precautions: Like most soap, keep Flawlessly Yours! away from young children and pets unless an adult is present. Also, avoid eye contact. If you should get it in your eyes, immediately flush out with water. If used in shower or tub, put down mats as product becomes slippery when wet. Finally, do not ingest; if so, drink a glass of water.

2. Q: Can Flawlessly Yours! be used on one’s hands, feet, hair, body, etc.?

A: Yes, absolutely use it on your hands and feet; it is great for softening calluses and dry skin. I even carry a small bottle of Flawlessly Yours! with me wherever I go. It is so comforting, especially when faced with public restrooms with their harsh, drying soaps. My only caution is this: If you use Flawlessly Yours! in the tub or shower, be sure to put mats down. Flawlessly Yours! becomes fairly slippery when wet.

As to use on one’s hair/head, I definitely recommend using the original, Flawlessly Yours! Skin Care, Conditioner and Cleanser for SCALP conditions. Many have reported incredible results using Flawlessly Yours! for these issues. But, there are some cautions/limitations for use on one’s HAIR:

My original formula is NOT recommended for use on dark, colored-treated hair, as it may strip the color;
It may be somewhat expensive, relative to other shampoos;
It is fairly thick, so it tends to be a little difficult to apply;
It may leave a slight residue/film on one’s hair. [However, it makes MY hair so satiny, shiny, smooth, and conditioned--not to mention all the benefits to my scalp—who cares! I especially like to use this formula whenever I want to wear my hair up in a chignon, etc. It’s almost like having a hot oil treatment, so I pamper myself with this special treat once a month! So, to make it more cost effective, as well as to address the other above concerns, I developed Flawlessly Yours! Hair Care Shampoo, Conditioner and Cleanser, now in two consistencies: “Light” and “Heavy.” [See sections on Hair Home Page and Hair Products, i.e., Flawlessly Yours! Hair Care Shampoo, Conditioner and Cleanser.]

NOTE: Flawlessly Yours! as such, generally refers only to SKIN care products. Now that I also have hair care, as well as pet care products, these two new products may be distinguished, as follows:

Flawlessly Yours! Hair Care Shampoo, Conditioner, Cleanser, i.e., Flawlessly Yours! Shampoo; and
Flawlessly Yours! Pet Care Shampoo, Conditioner and Cleanser, i.e., Flawlessly Yours! Pet Shampoo.

I hope this clarifies any confusion regarding these products.

ALSO NOTE: At this time, both the “Light” as well as the “Heavy” consistencies of Flawlessly Yours! Shampoo are NOT recommended for use on dark, colored-treated hair, as they may strip the color.

3. Q: How does one use Flawlessly Yours!? Exactly how much does one use? How much does it cost? How old does one need to be to use it? Would one ever be too old to use it?

A: I have measured how much I use on a daily basis at bedtime. I have found that I use approximately ¼ to ½ teaspoon, on the average, each night. [Now, this does not include use of Flawlessly Yours! for hand-washing, etc., which would increase your usage, hence your costs.] However, at ¼ to ½ teaspoon per day, 1/2 cup (4 oz.) of Flawlessly Yours! would last approximately 48-96 days. To put this another way, you could buy about 3 months’ supply for $40 (again, about $0.40/day)! Again, usage may vary according to each person and the extent of his/her needs. My BEST value, though, is my 16 oz. Bath/Vanity Bottle for $100. This is equivalent to 4, 4 oz. bottles at $25 each, instead of $40, or about 400 days usage, for only about $0.25/day.

Depending on the size of the bottle purchased and the length of one’s hair, one’s costs could be as low as $0.30 per shampoo for short hair. Long hair would be more, but would vary.]

In general, do not overuse. For some with dry skin, it may be too drying, and for others with oily skin, it may be too moisturizing. If so, just avoid use for a day or two until your skin normalizes. Also, I have experimented over the years to discover this: If Flawlessly Yours! is used, per the instructions detailed, i.e., 3 X consecutively at BEDTIME, one’s skin is NOTICEABLY BETTER in the morning. You will notice that your pores are cleaner and smaller, therefore blemishes and/or wrinkles are diminished.

As far as age goes, my recommendation would be: After age 12, there are no restrictions. However, I would definitely NOT use it on little children under 12 or on pets unless an ADULT IS PRESENT.

4. Q: Does one need to use a moisturizer and/or hand lotion, etc., with Flawlessly Yours!? Is Flawlessly Yours! makeup?

A: I have found during the 17 years that I have used Flawlessly Yours! that I need LESS moisturizer than before, but I always use hand lotion and a facial, day moisturizer of some type to protect my skin from the sun and wind. Also, I never need to exfoliate or use facials or toners containing isopropyl alcohol on my sensitive skin, as Flawlessly Yours! is like a daily exfoliation, facial and toner all in one. Also, I rarely use night creams, unless I have had exposure to winter winds and temperatures. Then, I usually just apply it to my lip and eye area right after cleansing with Flawlessly Yours!

Is Flawlessly Yours! makeup? NO, it is NOT makeup: It is a SKIN (and HAIR) CARE product. That is why men, as well as the entire family, including pets, are finding relief for their skin and hair problems. However, for women who already use makeup, I simply encourage them to continue using whatever makeup they like, as long as it does not hurt their skin. The goal, of course, is to have such lovely, clear skin, that makeup becomes “optional.”

5. Q: Can I expect to have the same results that you have had with Flawlessly Yours!?

A: Again, there are so many variables, due to individual differences, etc., that this question is nearly impossible to answer. For example, one’s DNA would be the single most determining factor of one’s success, and that factor, like it or not, is beyond one’s control. But, there are environmental factors that one CAN more or less control: One’s age when beginning to use this simple cleanser; one’s diet (For example: I quickly learned in graduate school that foods high in milk fat contributed to my post-adolescent acne fiasco.); one’s alcohol consumption and smoking habits; one’s exposure to the sun, wind and elements; one’s taking vitamins and supplements; one’s drinking adequate water and getting ample sleep; and one’s success at reducing stress, etc. Yet, in addition to all that, there is one variable that would definitely enhance and accelerate one’s success in attaining flawless skin. That one variable would simply be this: ONE’S PERSEVERANCE IN CLEANSING DAILY, PARTICULARLY AT BEDTIME. That would be the one variable that I can honestly say makes a VISIBLE difference in the mirror in the morning, all other factors notwithstanding: A simple soap; a simple truth.

6. Q: Is this soap for “women only”?

A: Absolutely not! I have had more men “go crazy” over this soap than women! This is possibly because women are so inundated with cosmetics from a very young age, and therefore, are somewhat jaded. But, beyond that, men go for “what works,” and not just for a pretty scent, etc., and Flawlessly Yours! definitely is “what works!” Also, the Extremely Dry/Sensitive Skin Formula #1 (the original formula, by the way, which I used for nearly sixteen years) has no strong fragrance at all, just a mild, clean scent. For this reason, perhaps, it is more amenable to men’s tastes. The other formulas have varying degrees of essential oils. Yet, I have been pleasantly surprised to find that men truly enjoy essential oils as much, if not more than most women. [Note: I now use the Dry/Sensitive Skin Formula #2 in eucalyptus. I guess I, too, am a sucker for essential oils.]

7. Q: How old were you when you started using Flawlessly Yours!? And, how long have you been using it? Have you ever “cheated” and used another soap/product for any length of time? Have you ever had a chemical peel or cosmetic surgery?

A: I was 42 when I “discovered” one of the major components of this simple soap in my mother’s cupboard (see the picture of me as a brunette in 1991 on Home Page). I am now 59 (see the picture of me as a blonde in 2007 at age 58 on Home Page), so this means that this Christmas marks my 17th year using this product. Yes, I have “cheated,” as sometimes the simple, clean scent was not as “glamorous” as I thought I needed. In the few cases where I experimented with “Brand X,” I always came back—usually in a matter of days—to Flawlessly Yours! Even in the few days I would “cheat,” I found my pores would start to get bigger, or certain lines would start to form around my eyes or mouth. In short, I just wanted “what worked,” scent or no scent, so I’d return to Flawlessly Yours! Finally, NO, NO, NO—I have never had any chemical peel or cosmetic surgery. Flawlessly Yours! in a way, gives me my daily facelift and “peel.” [By the way, a woman actually looked behind my ears to see if I had any scars from a plastic surgeon. She couldn’t believe I had kept my skin so youthful with only this simple soap.]

8. Q: How DOES Flawlessly Yours! really work?

A: This is probably my favorite question, so I saved it for last. Flawlessly Yours! works due to its having a very basic pH, as well as astringent/surfactant/viscous aspects. This all means that Flawlessly Yours! is able to penetrate your skin deeply, naturally and gently, yet it has enough “muscle” to pull out impurities and tighten your skin. This not only gets your skin “squeaky” clean, soft and exfoliated, your pores get healthier as they continue to get smaller. And, as they get smaller, not only do whiteheads and blackheads become a thing of the past, but your skin is naturally toned and tightened. Also, smaller pores mean that moisture is locked in, so your skin appears plumper and younger. Finally, all of this works to make one’s skin simply “normal,” the way it was intended to be.
